Hi does anyone know if when starting a parttime job if social security lowers your monthly income and if you have to send them your pay stubs from work monthly? Thanks.

Each state has a limit to the amount of money one person can mae a month when receiving SSI. Like in the state of missouri its like 780's something. So when you start working they will take every other dollar out of your SSI payment once you hit the limit.

Hi hello.

Each state does have their own confusing system, but I have SSI and live in Colorado, so here's the deal with my part time job.

It's something like every dollar over 80 a month you make, they divide in two and take that out of your monthly check.

You do have to go and pick up a form to fill out with company name, boss name, job title, hours worked.

*if* you have SSI, call your local SS office and ask about telephone wage reporting service. they also have an iPhone and Android app to report your wages if on SSI, which I think is fucking sweet. This replaces you having to get pay stubs and mail them in each month. You can find instructions online about the wage reporting.

First you need to know if you are on SSI or SSDI. SSDI allows for way more.
Next, you can take deductions, such as travel, clotheing cleaning, and other things, so your part time job doesn't bother you.
You have an avocate, I'll bet in your city. Find one and ask what you can do, so you get the best out of your situation.
